This piece is about masochism and the relationship between pain and pleasure. It's named after the novel and song, "Venus in Furs". The Velvet Underground was inspired by the book of the same title about a man who loves a woman but she treated him as a slave and caused him physical pain (she was a dominatrix). He loved her so much that he endured the pain just to be with her. I'm studying the relationship between pain and pleasure and making a statement that the two go hand in hand. Pleasure would not exist without the existence of pain, and perhaps vice versa.
